Baba House

Its chow time! The other day Terese and I found a new Malaysian restaurant in North Melbourne and we decided to try out the food. We are always in search of good food around town.

Its called Baba House after Baba and Nyonya I supposed, lets see if they live up to their name as authentic Malaysian food expert.
The inside is quite small but cosy with a bar behind the dining area and the toilets upstairs! It was a quiet afternoon so there's no excuse for not cooking up good meals for us, we are the undercover food critics and our appraisals are invaluable!
Terese ordered the nasi lemak with beef and the usual ikan bilis and all the other stuffs that come with it. And the verdict? 2 thumbs up! Good!

I had the Hainanese Chicken Rice and all I can say is it was one of the best chicken rice I've had in a long time! Very authentic and very tasty! 2 thumbs up from me too!

Since then we've been back there again last week and tried the Curry Laksa and Ipoh Combination Hor Fun and they were just as good! I forgot to take their pictures..doh!

So if you ever come to town and would like some good old authentic Malaysian food, come to Baba House Malaysian Restaurant in Errol Street, North Melbourne and tell them I recommended it!

Baba House that sells all kinds of Malaysian food in general, or supposedly Nyonya style cuisine? The nasi lemak looks delicious!

But nth beats the RM1 nasi lemak we used to eat that is sold by the road side with really spicy sambal, coconut milk rice with a tinge of pandan leaves smell, and anchovies/ sambal udang. Ah, and the two slices of cucumber. *Lolz I should know, my family operates a Nyonya-style cuisine...grandma's generation-to-generation passed down recipe. Yummy~ =)

Malaysian food is really good eh,haha *droolz
