Here Comes The Bride...

I can't believe its been a year since I last posted on the Floral Fantasy Display at Crown last year! Well its been a year and Crown is at it again to herald the coming of Spring.

Most of the displays are similar to last years' like this female peacock or peahen called "The Bride". This is a better bride as compared with last year's one. You have a look and judge for yourself which one you like better.

They call it the bride because its got a long tail cascading down the steps like the long veil of Princess Diana's wedding dress! So if this is the bride, where's the groom?

Here's the groom! Its the peacock, only male peacocks can fan out their tails like that to attract the attention of the females did you know? Things the males have to do to get in the sack with the females!

Comparing this year's peacock with last year's I think I like last year's better. This year they don't emphasise more on the tail whereas last year's tail was filled with flowers.

These flamingos must be the bridesmaids coz they're there to attend to the bride! They were present last year also but were on a platform rather than next to the staircase like these ones.

This is something new this year coz I don't recall seeing this last year. Its a crane but lets call it the celebrant who's going to marry the couple shall we? I like this display, very nicely done.

And of course there's always lots and lots of flowers at the wedding like these banksia? And orchids and roses, etc, etc...

They also use butterflies to add to the floral display this year which were absent last year. I think they make the displays look more lively!

There's heaps more but there's only so much I can show you. If you're in Melbourne in the next week or so do come down and check it out yourself coz it won't be here too long. They're real flowers and they do die off!

Well, as the bride is based on Diana, guess the peacock is based on prince charles and he's balding, so that must explain why the peacock this year has less flowers on the tail..botak liaw mah..next year no tail at all :P
